The upper left hand corner features the 48 state flag of 1945 and the lower right corner shows the Texas state flag. Between the two flags is an outline of a star to show the placement of Texas as the 28th state and star on the flag. A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. This stamp has been designated as Scott Number 938.
