Tektronix TDS784D 700x 600x exact functional replacement for DS1486 and DS1250Y

Description: Tektronix TDS784D 700x 600x exact functional replacement for DS1486 and DS1250Y. (Same amount of memory, registers, etc.), no slower than 120ns. (Some scopes may have the DS1650Y instead of the DS1250Y. The DS1650Y is same as DS1250Y in Tektronix applications.) There is no TDS784D included with this auction. Only two chips and two sockets are included....QTY 1 DS1486 replacement and QTY 1 DS1250Y replacement. If you have option 05 (video trigger), these chips will not fit, but I have another layout that will work with the option 05 board....and this option is also socketed. I will need a picture of your existing NVRAMs installed in your processor board to know which layout is correct for your board. And you will have to communicate these details prior to your purchase or at the time of purchase. No communication = you get the default programming and layout as seen the pictures. These chips will be tested in a Tektronix TDS784D. Will be delivered (after testing) with parts programmed to work in a TDS784D (option 2M) or other model to match your scope. If your scope has options that do not match my files, I can likely re-program to match your options but I would have to know your details ahead of shipping time. I have the files to program most TDS700x and TDS600x scopes including TDS520B, TDS520C, TDS520D, TDS540D, TDS620B, TDS640A, TDS644B, TDS654C, TDS680B, TDS684A, TDS684B, TDS684C, TDS694C, TDS744A, TDS754A, TDS784A, TDS754C, TDS784C, TDS754D, TDS784D, and TDS794D. These files were taken from 100% working ok scopes and not downloaded from the internet. If your scope is not in the list you can message me to see what I can do for you. If you send me your good file, I can load it in and verify the DS1486 RTC is working ok with your load. Benefits vs old DS1486 and DS1250Y: 1) Battery easily replaceable. 2) Installed Battery can be larger than the original 3V 120mAh, BR1632. (Installed battery is 137mAh) 3) Battery voltage easily measurable. 4) Battery not installed until part is ordered. 5) No more worries about Counterfeit parts from shady sources. 6) This part is not obsolete with no replacement like the original. You can kludge/bodge your existing DS1486 provided only the battery has failed. It’s not too hard to look around and find videos/pictures of how to do it. Drill in exactly the right place...solder...glue, etc. Pretty messy if you ask me and the exact definition of a bodge. And if you’re lucky you won't break a pin off the DS1486 or DS1250 when you’re pulling them out for re-work, which would mean game over on that DS1486. These parts were created after I received a batch of 10 DS1486 from an eBay seller and later determined all 10 parts were bad. The parts even had a date code of 2015 when the seller’s picture clearly showed a 2009 date code. I attempted to return those parts but the seller refused to provide the return to China shipping label and I had to eat the cost of those parts and shipping. So now my rotten experience results in a good solution for those honest eBay buyers. I am not accepting large quantity orders on this part. It’s only available to those hobbyist who really need the parts. If you are buying these for a Tektronix processor board repair, I recommend installing both the DS1486 and DS1250Y replacements at the same time.You will have to carefully unsolder your DS1250 and DS1486, then solder in the sockets I provide, then insert the replacement parts in the sockets. If you have never unsoldered or soldered parts before, I would NOT recommend trying this for the first time on your Tektronix processor board. No testing done on other instruments other than the TDS784D. Up to 5 days handing time on this item. That will give me enough time to build and test your parts before shipment.
