The RC166 was the ultimate six-cylinder engine, developed by Honda to win the 250cc class of the world road race in 1966. The engine was ridden by the famous Mike Hailwood, who won all ten races he entered, demonstrating his overwhelming strength and winning both the rider and manufacturer titles in 1966. In addition, he was the driving force behind Honda's domination of all five classes of the World Road Race GP that year. This legendary machine, which marked a glorious page in Honda's racing history, has been revived in 1/12 scale using the latest moulding technology. Model Details. Overall length 166mm, width 43mm. Wheels are made from matte-plated ABS plastic with separate parts for the rims and delicate-looking spokes. The air-cooled parallel six-cylinder engine is modelled with a full three-dimensional effect, with deeply sculpted cooling fins created by stacking the parts. The cowling, with its slim form, is a realistic one-piece moulded part with subtle lines. Tyres are made from solid rubber, realistically reproducing the triangular cross-sectional shape characteristic of the 60s. Air ducts for the drum brake, cowl snap and chain slider are made from etched parts and rivets are represented by inlet marks. Accelerator and brake wires around the handlebars are represented by vinyl pipes. The handlebar grip rubber is made from textured elastomer resin. Wheels are made from ABS resin with 0.4 mm diameter spokes. Each front and rear wheel is made up of 9 matt plated parts. The seat is made of textured elastomer resin. Rivets are reproduced with inlet marks. The covers on the lower part of the cowl can be easily detached using magnets. Steps are made from machined aluminium and are fixed to the frame with 1.2mm screws, giving them sufficient strength even when using the stand. Slide marks include M. Hailwood's No. 16 and S. Graham's No. 8 from the 1966 Isle of Man T.T. race, as well as No. 1 and No. 7 from the 1967 race. Payment Please pay within 5 days after the auction closed.
