Description: Nice 1st edition book titled "TALE OF A TIGER" hard cover with dust jacket by R T SMITH. Autographed on the fly cover "For Chuck Stanley - Best Wishes -RT Smith" History of the American Volenteer Group "Flying Tigers" as told by former member & Ace RT Smith (later an Ace & flight instructor for the US Army Air Corps). His story is told based on his personal diary that he recorded during his time of service. The book has a large number of "Flying Tiger" related photos and gives a great history of this "Private" air Force flying for China against the Japanese prior to the entrance of the US into WW2. The bulk of the personell involved were active duty US military that resigned in order to join the AVG w the understanding that they would be readmitted to the military should the US enter the war. The bookis in excellent condition - the dust jacket is in good condition w minor edge & corner wear and a rub down the spine. Please see photos for more details & to evaluate condition
