Other helpful hints include:When catching shad or purchasing shad, cool tank water to low 60's or within 10°F of original source of shad water. This will help decrease initial shock.Round or oval shaped tanks work best in keeping shad alive.Always wet hands before handling shad.Maintain water temperature in mid 60's if no filtration unit is used on tank. If tank has filtration system, then water temperature may be kept in mid 70's.Maintain caution when doing partial water changes, so that pH of water is not changed drastically on shad.
