Poem laments that eggs are now laid in others' nests, not our own. - Woman cries at vendor: "Are you of the devil? What used to cost pennies now costs 3 Marks!" - Man before/after: "I used to round my belly, but 200 pounds have disappeared, all that's left is air in a pipe!" (the cited poems all rhyme in German!)- German Eagle eating worthless paper money lays an egg into a famished man's hand but, as per poem, but his hopes that it will be "worth it" (i.e. be edible or have any nutrition) will soon be dashed. - Man, all skin and bones, cuts yet another piece off of his tie, as woman cries "Please Mr. Bureaucrat, make it double the quantity. I have the hunger of a lion and the belly of a cow. Then you can chew again and stay calm."- 2 rotund Fat Cats are living the high life. The poem laments: "You know this breed, old chum, connivers (scammers) and pushers. In the old days they were lifted to the gallows, but nowadays they just push (scam) on, undisturbed." This is an example of how Germany's economic and social malaise was being blamed greedy bankers and money lenders. 25 PFENNIGS- Bust of E. Marlitt pen name of popular female novelist Eugenie John (1825-1887) - Bust of Willibad Alexis, German novelist. All noted figures lived in Arnstadt. - Johann Sebastian Bach and the pipes of the organ he played in Arnstadt. - The Schwarzburger Inn - St. Bonifacius Church and Fountain.- Magnificent old City Hall Building 50 PFENNIG- "In the year 1635 The Black Plague takes 1236 townspeople".
