Description: STAND INCLUDED W/PURCHASE! I found this beautiful eopachydiscus marcianus ammonite November 11, 2024 in a duck creek formation exposure in Tarrant County, TX just south of Lake Benbrook. It has EXTREMELY NICE sutures visible as well as crystals visible, and to top it off, some interesting pyrite clusters on the inner whorls! Very nice ammonite! The nice side has some unevenness visible along one section where the ammonite was likely crushed by some object in the ocean, then fossilized. It’s subtle and a nice part of the story of this beauty. Approx 8.5” diameter 5 lbs, 9 oz weight Its estimated age of 90-100 million years old places it in the age of dinosaurs, when a vast sea known as the western interior seaway covered the middle of the North American continent. Please review all photos prior to purchase! No repairs have been made or were/are necessary. I prepared this ammonite using hammer, chisel, sandpaper, and a dremel 290 with a zoic paleo chisel tip. 6” diameter 2 pounds 3.2 ounces (stand included) STAND INCLUDED WITH THIS PURCHASE.
