Super Distorted Panzer IV World War Toons Meng #WWT-013 Factory Sealed MISB

Description: I have to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. I have seen a rise in popularity of Super Distorted (or Egg) kits in the market. I have to confess that at first, it rubbed me the wrong way because I have always seen scale modeling as a way to honor the history of our military, technology and popular culture. Turning them into caricatures seemed disrespectful and blurred the line between models and toys. I soon realized that not everyone shares my feeling of reverence for accuracy, which is perfectly fine. If the distorted kits bring these subjects into the lives of more people, then it is a big win, in my opinion. It is just another way to bring history to life for the next generation, as long as they understand that the sacrifices and experiences associated with these tanks and ships were very real. This kit seems to be easy to find from a variety of sellers (almost all from distant overseas sellers), but I am a Top Rated Plus US seller who has it in stock and can reliably ship this item very quickly. Here is what I have found about this nifty little kit: Meng Model is an up-and-coming brand that has put out some fantastic kits of interesting subjects. Their World War Toons line (along with their Warship Builder line) is a distinct departure from their hyper-accurate roots. These are fun and super distorted versions of well-known tanks and ships. The Panzer IV is another excellent release in the WW Toons line and has appropriately colored parts with snap-fit design. Other releases have included the Tiger I, Sherman, KV-2, Panther and many other iconic tanks. The Meng site has the following brief blurb about the Panzer 4: The Panzer IV tank has been called the German War Horse. It’s the only tank which saw service in combats throughout WWII. People found various shortcomings on it, but its reliability and upgrade potential made it the backbone of the German armor units. Scalemates.com has a listing for this kit that confirms that it is a brand new 2018 tooling. They have a link to the complete full-color 12-page instruction set, but there is little additional useful information about the kit. I could not find any reviews of the Panzer IV kit (#WWT-013), but there are plenty of reviews of other subjects within the same series. A sample should shed light on the quality of this kit. Semyon Nemakov did an In Box Review of the WWT-007 Panther kit on the Russian-language scalejournal.ru site. He offers up very large photos of the hull, superstructure and parts sprues as well as the decals, tracks and instructions. The translation for his conclusion says: “A great set for attracting children to hobbies, practicing basic assembly and painting skills, as well as for relaxing after serious assemblies.” This snap-fit kit is in a nicely decorated box about 9” x 6” x 2.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the box is in great shape. It is still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete model kit with tan plastic parts, black rubber-band tracks and a set of decals. It does not require paint or glue (snap together assembly!) to complete as shown.
