This is an offering that is built off of the Suhr Standard platform but maintains a distinctively vintage and more traditional sound and look with Pete's signature Thornbucker pickups as well as several distinct visual appointments that remind you of a certain legendary 24.75" scale-length, set-neck singlecut guitar.The smooth satin neck blends the best of vintage and modern, being similar to vintage "S" type guitar in shape but with the slightly slimmer profile of a '60s singlecut style guitar. The pickups are a great representation of the "PAF tone" from that style of guitar that, for most, is considered the holy grail of vintage humbucker sounds. The Thornbucker+ in the bridge adds a slightly more aggressive and overwound characteristic to that traditional output level to make it more usable with higher gain applications. It's a great combination of vintage inspiration with modern design. Though you can easily saturate the heck out of these pickups and you won't lose note definition or articulation, you can also get some beautiful crystal clear clean tones and even some slightly overdriven bluesy sounds, especially with the myriad of switching options offered to you by the push-pull pot and 5-way switching. The Wilkinson bridge will guarantee that you can wail away on the trem as much as you want and your intonation will remain spot on. The tonewood choices, hardware choices, and electronics all pair together so well on paper, and plugging the guitar in only reaffirms what a perfect combination it all is in reality as well.
