The first printing of "A" Is for Alibi was 7,500 copies, with initial sales of about 6,000. The book has negligible edge wear and a single scuff but is easily near fine or better. The boards are wonderfully straight and clean. The binding is square and firm and it is doubtful this copy has ever been read. The text block is clean and free of any markings. The dust jacket has edge wear with some shallow chips, tanning, and a sticker ghost. This copy has a nice bold Grafton signature neatly tipped in on the front end page. All together a superb example of a book which is notoriously fickle in a presentable and acceptable example of the uncommon first issue dust jacket. This was the first appearance of Grafton’s famous detective Kinsey Millhone and was the first installment in the "Alphabet mystery" series. Sadly, the series would end only one letter short with Grafton’s death in 2017. All books are offered with a full 30 day postage paid return policy.
