Description: Amuletic necklace featuring a large silver rectangular hirz (Qur'an case) pendant with eight sets of crescent-shaped danglers hanging from chains. The hirz is threaded onto a thickly twisted rope of cotton threads from barrel-shaped silver beads with granulation and a mulberry shaped granulated element on top of the central barrel. The case is densely decorated on the front with stamped designs of squares, diamond shapes, and incised floral motifs, the latter being highlighted with gold leaf. The two sides of the necklace are symmetrically designed each with barrel-shaped silver beads, two Maria Teresa Thalers each. The side of the hirz pendant can be opened and the deteriorated Qur'an pages are visible on the inside.
