Description: Back in the late 1970's, I was helping to clean out a house in Wheeling, West Virginia, and we ran across an assortment of paper items and such from the Stratford Bottling Company of Wheeling. I've had them since then, but it is time to move them on to someone who can appreciate them. This lot consists of a stack of half sheet paper advertisements for a 5 Cent Sale for Stratford's 17th Anniversary (which would have probably been sometime in the late forties or early fifties, I would guess. The bottler closed in 1969, and they definitely sold product in the 1930's, perhaps earlier). I did a quick count, and there are 25 of them). There is a cardstock card for a FREE bottle of Brandy Wine or Double Orange soda, which is definitely pre WWII, and there is a label (never used, but has curled up over the years) for Stratford Springs Corp. Distilled Water. I placed that label in one of those somewhat stiff baseball card holders, to get it to flatten out, and will ship it that way, both to help it settle and to protect it. All for one money. Photos of everything, fronts and backs (no, I did NOT photograph each of the 25 identical half sheet ads, but they are all in the same condition).
