This tool is plain finished low carbon steel, lightly oiled to prevent rusting. The BMW aluminum threaded part from service kit 32106891974 is used a check fixture to verify every part fits properly. (this isn't always true with other similar parts on eBay!) The tool is machined with a 24mm hexagon to accommodate a socket and a torque wrench to allow tightening to the proper torque.
