Description: Stanley Bailey N0. 6 Type eleven Fore Plane with a corrugated soul measuring 3" wide by 18" long, her plane iron is 2 3/8' by 7 5/8" long, it weighs 6 pounds and 6 oz. before packaging, 95% of the original black japanning is still intact, it has three patent dates March-25-02 / Aug.-19-02 / Apr. 19-10 there's a casting no. 2 under the tote, this plane was likely manufactured between 1910 and 1918, she has a frog adjustment screw and a frog and casting notch, there's a very fine line in the tote where an almost unnoticeable repair was made very long ago, but very strong, there's also an X notch on the tote likely as an I.D. mark from the original owner who was likely a bench carpenter and didn't want his valuable and beloved plane walking off during lunch, all I really did with this girl was disassemble her, give her a quick cleaning, I'm selling a few personal planes from my woodshop, these are working planes I recondition and hone if needed, though my planes are old if you're looking for a rusty old plane to set on a shelf my planes may not be what you're looking for and that's okay, these girls of mine are clean as a whistle and sharp as a razor, I put a fresh primary bevel and a dangerously sharp secondary bevel on her plane iron and yes you can shave with them, but I wouldn't recommend it, until we meet again let the chips fall where they may, thank you kindly for looking and Happy Trails to You and Yours :)
