Description: St Don Bosco &Mary, Help of ChristiansSingle Decade RosaryThe chaplet has a beautiful nickel silver medal with the image of the handsome and kind face of Saint Don Bosco on the front and Mary, Help of Christians on the back. All eleven beads are 8 mm, smooth, round, natural, genuine semi-precious gemstones. The single Our Father bead is a Mahogany Obsidian, a reddish brown stone with black markings. The ten Hail Mary beads are Sodalite, which is a blue stone with cloud-like markings. The 1-3/4" silver-toned San Damiano crucifix has one half of the prayer of peace by St Francis on the back, in English (we include a card with the full prayer plus info on the crucifix). Both the crucifix and the medal were made in Italy; the chaplet itself was designed and handmade in the USA by myself. He called it the Salesian method after St Francis de Sales, and founded the Salesians of Don Bosco. With Sister Maria Mazzarello he founded the Institute of Our Lady Help of Christians, to aid young girls. John Bosco was canonized in 1934 and his important work continues today. He is the patron saint of Christian apprentices, publishers, editors, schoolchildren, and magicians. This last patronage is because as a young boy, John Bosco learned magic tricks to entertain his friends, and when he got their attention, would use the opportunity for evangelism. The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper. Although they are not like the usual smaller professionally printed prayer cards, most of our customers prefer them since they are like a pamphlet with 4 "pages" and several images, prayers, patronages and often other information about the saint or Catholic devotion.
