Description: The title of this charming Donna Aldridge print is "Spring Thaw at Turkey Creek", signed by Donna Aldridge, artist. The signature and numbering are original, written in pencil by the artist. Donna Aldridge is an internationally recognized Midwest American artist with works in galleries and collections throughout the world. She became a professional fine artist in the 1970's and has focused on painting, printmaking, and teaching. Her love of nature and gardening is evident in the American landscapes that she has become known for in recent years. This wonderful print is a giclee, produced from a large original pastel painting of Turkey Creek, a natural wooded area in Overland Park, Kansas. It has been beautifully custom framed with an outer navy blue matte and inset with a wedgewood blue border matte. The frame is solid wood, stained a dark cherry. The print was part of an estate and was originally a gift from the artist; the back of the print has a handmade flap attached that includes her original holiday note (see photos). It measures about 10 1/8 inches tall and is 12 1/8 inches wide (framed), a nice small size that will work in many different spaces. The print is in very good condition - no stains, spots, holes or tears. The matting is in great condition with no spots, holes, cracks or tears. The frame has some very minor scuffing, consistent with age, but is also in excellent condition. The paper covering on the back of the piece has some minor small dings (see photos), but this does not effect the picture. The glass is in good condition - no chips or cracks. The hanging bracket and wire are secure and sturdy. See photos for more details.
