SPI/WAR BETWEEN THE STATES- PUNCHED

Description: This is an excellent condition copy of SPI's WAR BETWEEN THE STATES, published in 1977. The game is an operational level simulation of the conflict which witnessed the greatest loss of life in American History and certified that we would continue to be The United States of America. The game uses a cycle system to regulate various game functions, with each cycle composed of a Strategic turn and four Game Turns; each representing a week. The rules allow for ground and water movement, with Leaders controlling combat units, grouped under Corps and Army Headquarters. Supply is integral to a fully functioning army and is received through rail and water paths, as well as from depots, supply trains and directly from army HQ's. Combat units can suffer attrition if adequate supply is not available. There are also rules for Naval and Riverine supply and combat, as well as Forts and Fortresses. The campaign game also includes rules for production of various units using supply and personnel points. The game components are in excellent condition. The rules and charts & tables sheets are copies of the originals and are clean and solid. The production and supply charts are crisp clean and solid, as are the maps. The Confederate supply chart has some neatly written corrections from the errata and the Production chart has some small drop stains? near the lower right corner. The counters are near pristine. The original game trays are missing, but have been replaced. The cover sheet has minor edge wrinkles.
