This is a First edition copy, as identified by the "First printing: March 1986" with a complete number line: "0 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1" on the copyright page (see Internet Speculative Fiction Database page: https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?31535). Speaker for the Dead was the winner of the 1987 Hugo, 1986 Nebula and 1987 Locus awards for best novel. Condition is near Fine. Book spine is tight and square. There are no bumps to the front and rear boards nor to the spine Dust jacket is price clipped. It has some creasing to the top edge of the dust jacket's rear panel & top edge of the spine. There is a small scratch of about 1 inch on the back that damages some of the writing for the New York Times praise. Dust jacket is protected in a Mylar cover. I'm in the process of selling my personal collection of a few hundred titles. Most of my books are hardcover (plus some paperback) first editions of winning books of Hugo, Nebula, John W. Campbell, International Fantasy Award and other awards, plus a few other notable books. Some have been signed and/or inscribed.
