Description: I have for sale a medal from the Sons Of The Revolution. The Sons of the Revolution was founded in 1876 by members of the Cincinnati who wished to broaden participation in preserving the American heritage. Its mission is to promote knowledge and appreciation of the achievement of American Independence and to foster fellowship among its members. This medal is 3 9/16 inches in diameter, it looks to be bronze and its in a high grade circulated condition. The reverse has 7 tiny digs in the center, also an area at the rim above the word OF looks like it was not completed when struck. The medal is 5/16 inch thick and very heavy. The obverse shows a nude bust of George Washington with an oak & laurel wreath around the bust. On the reverse it reads SONS OF THE REVOLUTION - FEBRUARY 22ND 1913. This medal might have been used for awards, since the center is blank on the reverse. Please see my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables. (17,970)
