Description: Handmade man's size medium gray 100% wool smoking cap or lounging cap. The round cap is 22" in circumference and 4" tall. It has a lining of black 100% cotton broadcloth with an inner lining of quilt batting for warmth. The cap is decorated with a hand-made 100% cotton Cavalry yellow tassel which is held in place with a reproduction Civil War era CSA brass button. During Victorian and Edwardian times, after dinner, gentlemen left the ladies and gathered to smoke their cigars and share a drink. In order to spare the ladies the smell of smoke gentlemen would frequently don their "smoking jacket and smoking cap" which could be removed, along with the smoke smell. Civil War re-enactors enjoy wearing the warm caps on a cool evening around the campfire. Steam punk, Edwardian, cigar club members, or any distinguished gentleman, will enjoy the cap.
