Description: This listing is for a adjustable necklace made with vintage yellow glass African Fulani trade beads, Sleeping Beauty 3mm Turquoise Rounds, sterling silver accent beads, a sterling silver lobster clasp, a turquoise and sterling silver cross pendant, and a sterling silver extension chain with a sterling silver charm. This necklace was inspired by a necklace in my own personal collection that I love so much. This necklace has a 3" sterling silver rhodium plated extension chain, making the necklace adjustable from 18 3/4" to 22". The necklace has a handmade vintage sterling silver turquoise cross pendant with patina which comes with age and which is meant to highlight the intricate design in the silver. It is made by Barse and measures 1 1/8" long, including the bail, by 7/8" wide. Sleeping Beauty turquoise is one of the most highly-prized turquoise in the world today. Intense, Robin's egg blue with little to no matrix. This vivid turquoise, often referred to as Persian color, has long been sought after by fine jewelers both in Europe and in America. Once available from the incredible Sleeping Beauty Mine in Arizona, it is the turquoise standard for the world; however, the Mine is now empty and closed, and so Sleeping Beauty Turquoise has become difficult to obtain and very expensive. The rounds of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise on this necklace has been specially enhanced using a trademarked process called the Zachary method, which makes the gemstone more dense, therefore resistant to oils and foreign elements that cause color change.
