Size L B 40 Tally Ho Front Button Acrylic Cardigan Sweater Scottie Dog Pockets

Description: A Tally-Ho long sleeve, crew neck, Cardigan Sweater, Acrylic, made in Mexico. This pre-owned long sleeve, stockinet stitch, Scottish Terrier design Cardigan has the neck, front edges, sleeves and hem finished with stockinet stitches which form subtle scallops. Scottie Dog is formed from yarn loops. A pocket is below each Scottie. Buttons are 5/8” wide, Silver Tone Metal self shank, and faux heraldic design. All 6 are there and there are no spares. There are no care labels, content labels or country of manufacture. I have machine washed this sweater on a short cycle with cold water; research indicates acrylic yarn and manufactured in Mexico. Research also dates this sweater all over the place but it is, definitely, vintage.. The shoulder pads have been removed. This is a medium weight knit garment. The colors in the photos are a tad off…it is a true Red and a true Dark Navy. And, yes, the colors are very bright. Cuffs will expand to let your hand pass through. Measurements are approximate as this sweater has thick seams. Measurements are taken with the garment lying flat. Compare the measurements to a garment you have that fits you well. Lillian...the helpful mannequin...is a Bust 34", Waist 25", Hips 36". She is 17" from her Nap to Waist. Lillian is narrow shouldered. She stands about 5' 7". This garment has been carefully laundered and dried in the North Carolina sun! Although care has been taken, since this garment is not new there may still be pills, loose threads, or lint. When purchasing a vintage garment, or any garment, follow the measurements not the size. Size specifications have changed over the years and a vintage garment may have been altered to fit the original owner. Also, remember to leave ease between your personal measurements and the garment's. For example, a top that is 40" in the bust area will not fit a 40" bust...it will be tight. A 42" top will fit better. Also a vintage garment was designed and cut to follow the body silhouette of its time period. For the best fit, undergarments from the same time period are suggested. When purchasing a vintage garment please remember that it is old. I may have missed a fade or a flaw. I may have misjudged the year. I am happy to be corrected.
