Description: SIX Constant Brightness Super Bright Headlight Kits. Conventional DC model railroading has always been plagued with an unrealistic locomotive headlight. If you've ever been driving down a road at night next to a railroad track with a train approaching from the opposite direction, your first inclination is to think, "What in the world is that unbelievably bright light?" They REALLY LIGHT UP THE NIGHT! Then you look at your model railroad locomotive and as it starts to move the headlight is barely lit. As more voltage is applied and the engine moves faster the light keeps getting brighter, but even at full throttle it's usually a little more than a glow. With this simple little kit, which can be assembled in a matter of minutes, you can have a headlight on your engine that will come on BEFORE your engine starts to move, and stay at the same intensity as you apply more voltage. Looking at the picture I've included of an engine approaching with this kit installed, I think you'll agree the bright headlight looks a lot more realistic! The items in this kit include: 1) Six - Integrated circuits, 2) Six - 10 ohm resistors (that programs them), 3) Six super bright LEDs. Your choice of 5 mm, 3mm, or the very tiny 0603 SMD with 7 inch leads which ever size fits your needs! If you don't tell me what size you want, I'll just send the 5mm. 4) A full set of instructions! It is not important as to whether it fits in the headlight opening or not, it works just as well behind the lens or opening. This is VERY EASY! If you can solder, you can do this. There is nothing additional required to do this. Just solder the parts together as per the instructions. But, if you should find you need any personal instructions just contact me. These items will give you the necessary parts for SIX (6) lights. Note: Please contact me when ordering as to which size LED meets your needs (5 mm, 3 mm, or 0603 SMD), otherwise I'll just send the 5 mm. The unit will only light in the direction the engine is going, giving directional lighting without any additional diodes (which cause voltage loss). The items in this circuit won't even get warm, and will handle forward voltages up to 40 volts. and needs no protection against reverse voltages (i.e. the locomotive is running in "reverse") for voltages up to 20 V. Both of these exceed the nominal 12 V to 18 V of model railroads by a comfortable margin. Since this is electronic equipment, no returns are accepted which is standard for the industry for electric switches and other electronics. CUSTOMER COMMENTS:Dear providencefarmkitchenkraft,I just wanted to take a second and say thank you. I built one of the kits and installed it and it works and looks great. I had purchased something from someone else a while back and it didn't work out, but your kit works perfectly. If I had more locomotives without headlights I would buy more.A great kit! Clear instructions. Great service! Will shop again! Your electronics work nicely. It has been almost as fun to set things up as running the trains. Clever. Great instructions. Any help you might need or questions you might have about voltage, resistance etc. we will be happy to answer! Have you seen our 3 volt grain of wheat mini-lamps great for lighting up those dark passenger cars, or our very tiny 0603 bright white leds for over a door light or perfect for the Utah Pacific caboose marker lamps, or our KIT FOR CONTROL OF TURNOUT/LIGHTING & FROG POLARITY w/ 3 BI-COLOR 3 MM LEDs all available on ebay! We accept Paypal, which also gives you the option of "Paypal Credit", or using your debit and/or credit cards!
