Description: Six Antique “Amherst Japan" Imari Small Teacups c. 1835 -1840. Very good condition. This pattern is known as Amherst Japan, the decoration being both transferprinted and handpainted. Beautiful oranges & blues. Floral. Just stunning. Decorative Amherst Japan blue backstamp to base, pattern no. 824 in red. Cups measure 2.5 inches tall, mouth width is slightly larger than 3 inches. Width including Handle is approximately 4”, base width is 1.75”. Each cup weighs approximately 3 - 4 ounces. Set weighs 1 lbs. 6 oz. Last photos show inconsistencies including misplaced paint to 1 foot, glue or honey to 2 handles, Musso g red number to 1 cup. Otherwise very well preserved. No restoration. No staining or crazing.
