Description: A very nice and very RARE set of Gilded Metal miniature toy trains by the famous French firm of Simon et Rivollet. The color is more golden than the pictures. Late 19th early 20th century. Very rare and I could not find another set. This miniature train set came from a very fine auction of antique toys and miniatures. It was in a top collection. Excellent condition except as mentioned above, one wheel is missing from a piece and another one has a repaired hook made of wire. It is amazing this beautiful set has survived. This set would have been part of what is termed "Penny Toys" of the period. Note all pieces are marked "France" and one piece is marked "France S.R." RARE.
