Description: On this broken necklace, which is 16 inches, we have a unique Hahnaman pendant. Lord Hanuman is a Hindu god of protection, and I believe this was a lid to a prayer box. A prayer box pendant to be more specific as the back is hollow and looks like it has a lip on it. Necklace is probably some kind of silver alloy and there’s a little bits and pieces of enamel glass or stone on it. The double chain, which is has a lot of links on. It is made of silver, although probably low-grade coin silver. The rest of the necklace has some glass beads on it from Africa. This is a broken necklace. Although the clasp is intact, one of the chains has broken off, but the main selling point for this necklace is the Haniman pendant. I’m not quite sure where this pendant came from in India although the design is rather modern, probably post 1950s.
