A boxed set of two books containing images selected by Ritts from the first decade of his work as a photographer. Many of these photographs, taken for the artist's own pleasure, were judged either too eccentric or too erotic for publication. The faces in these photographs are familiar, but Ritts shows them in an unfamiliar light. The pleasure of the artist at work is felt strongly in these photographs which do not compromise vision for popular acceptance. Very good in a very good slipcase. The books have light wear. Due to the nature of the cloth, dust particles have adhered to it which can be brushed off. Internally, clean bright and tight. The slipcase shows light wear. Few scuff marks. Some rubbing to the gold leaf lettering. Dust has also adhered to the cloth. SIGNED twice by Herb Ritts.
