Description: “CATALYSTS”, 1978 SIGNED ORIGINAL LIMITED EDITION COLOR LITHOGRAPH BY AMERICAN ARTIST AND PRINTMAKER RICHARD ABERLE FLORSHEIM (1916-1979) This original limited edition Richard Florsheim color lithograph, commissioned by the Rexnord Corporation, was printed at the Landfall Press in 1978 in an edition of 220. The lithograph is signed in pencil by the artist in the margin below the image lower right: R.A. Florsheim, and numbered in pencil in the margin below the image lower left: 168/220.The image size measures 9 x 12 inches, printed on wove paper, with full margins the sheet measures 13 1/4 16 inches. The lithograph comes matted, without frame. The mat measures 15 x 18 inches. Reference Iacono No. 275: “A Catalogue Raisonne of the Graphic Work of RICHARD FLORSHEIM” by Domenic J. Florsheim was born in Chicago. He was active as a painter, sculptor and graphics artist in Chicago, Milwaukee, Provincetown and Woodstock, New York. There he was assistant director of the Arts Center Association, 1951-1952, and taught at the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee from 1949 to 1950, and the Contemporary Art Workshop in Chicago from 1952 to 1963. From 1965 to 1973, he was a board member of the Illinois Arts Council. Florsheim studied at the University of Chicago. He became a member of the National Academy of Design, the Society of American Graphic Artists, the Provincetown Art Association, which he served as Trustee and Vice President from 1962 to 1971, and the Chicago Society of Artists from 1947. _____________________________________ AUTHENTICITY OF ARTWORK IS GUARANTEED.
