The copyright date is 2007 and no additional dates or printings are noted. Monson has signed, dated (2009) and inscribed the book "To Janice" on the title page. A gold foil "Limited Edition Autographed Copy" sticker is affixed to the front panel of the dustjacket. The book is in very good plus condition in a very good dustjacket, with navy blue cloth boards, gilt titles and navy blue endpapers. Synopsis - From the publisher: "Susan Butcher was a four-time champion of the Iditarod Trail sled dog race. Granite was her greatest lead dog, but he didn't start that way. He was a shy, scraggly pup that the others pushed around, but Susan saw his potential. Together they worked until he became leader of the team. While they were training for the Iditarod, Granite became deathly ill, and the veterinarians said he would never be strong enough to run the race. Granite refused to accept this, and slowly started to recover. By the time of the race he was strong enough to start, but Susan wondered if he could finish the entire thousand-mile race. Granite guided the team into the lead of the race, but suddenly they were caught in a raging Arctic blizzard. Now Susan and the whole team depended on Granite to get them through the storm. Condition Details - The book has a square spine, a tight binding, and no marks, tears, or writing. The cover has sharp corners and no edgewear, soil or stains. The textblock edges are clean.
