Description: This is an extremely ornate brass jewelry or dresser box made by the prestigious firm 'Eberhard & Sohne' of Germany. I was told that this was given to my mother's Uncle when he was a 19-year-old soldier stationed in the U.S. Zone just after the second World War. He also met the woman who would become his wife there, a Red Army interpreter in the USSR Zone, which I'd say is much more important! They were happily together for over 50 years. The box measures about 5-1/4" by 5-1/4" by 2-1/4", and has a beautiful purple velour lining. I've tried to show all angles but it's still hard to take in the beauty and detail of this box from photographs alone. This will be shipped well-packed and fully insured for your protection!
