Mastered only in the analog domain and converted directly to DSD!Home country ETERNA original analog tape latest reprint plan SACD hybridization 23rdThree Sibelius albums of Garaguri recorded on the ETERNA label from 1964 to 1968 have been compiled into a two-disc set. Carl von Galagli (1900.12.28-1984.10.4) was originally a violinist from Hungary, joined the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1917 during the Nikisch era, transferred to Commas of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in 1923, and later He also conducts and is studying under Clemens Krauss. After that, World War II began, and from 1940, as a successor to Fritz Busch, he began to conduct at the Stockholm Philharmonic, which had been deputy Commas since 1930 (later appointed chief conductor). It is often thought that Garaguri, who was mainly active in Northern Europe, has little contact with ETERNA, but it seems that these recordings were realized because he often appeared as a guest at the Dresden Philharmonic and was well received. In addition to Sibelius, ETERNA also had Kodaly's Hari Janos Suite and Shustakovic with the Dresden Philharmonic, and Johann Strauss's works with SKD. These sound sources, especially in Sibelius No. 2, were recognized as masterpieces known to those in the know even in Japan.Garagri's performance of Sibelius here is an orthodox one with a very Nordic tone, unlike the clear and bright performances in the West, excluding England, and the extremely dark and strict performances in the former Soviet Union and the former East Germany. It's a thing. Outside of Northern Europe, the reputation of Sibelius has been rising in England from early on, and many famous performances have been produced, but Garaguri's virtuosity that draws out the sounds of Northern Europe while using German orchestra is still fresh to listen to today. Surprise. Especially for this label, the performance of Kegel and No. 4 recorded in 1966 and No. 6 with Berglund (reprinted in 0302753BC of this project in 2022) is the exact opposite, and I can't believe it's the same orchestra. In addition, as you know, ETERNA later integrated Sibelius's symphony recordings in the analog era with Sanderling, and completed the complete work in 1977 (reprinted in 2021 as 0302066BC). Garaguri's performance has three orchestras, especially the spirit and precision of No. 1, the coherence and uplifting feeling of symphony No. 2 with the Gewandhaus Orchestra, and the splendid composition of No. 7 and Tapiola. Even though they are disjointed, the performances that make use of their respective characteristics are something to behold. It was a board that was not widely distributed even in the CD era, so I expect that the evaluation will increase with the high sound quality this time. It will join one of the important Sibelius recordings. For this reprint, the master tape was airlifted from the label to the studio of Mr. Christoph Stickel, a mastering engineer living in Vienna. PCM for the CD layer is made into a product by another system. In this project, we achieved mastering in the most ideal way possible. The effect is remarkable, and it is possible to reproduce the quality left on the master tape extremely faithfully, and mastering only in the analog domain and direct DSD have brought about more sound quality effects. With its surprisingly clear and high resolution compared to its predecessor, the performance is expected to receive further evaluation. In addition, the Japanese manual also includes a color photograph of the outer box of the original analog master tape used this time.Work information MainConductor: Carl von GaragryOrchestra: Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra OthersComposer: Jean SibeliusContents Number of components | 2 sheets Track ListingJean Sibelius:
