showy 6" Stanley No 25 sliding T bevel w/ rosewood handle & original box

Description: You are bidding on one Stanley Number 25 sliding T bevel with its original cardboard box as pictured. The bevel is marked with "STANLEY" in the Handy-Grip on one side of the handle, and on the blade with the STANLEY notched rectangle logo and "MADE IN USA" below that, and also "No 25 6 IN" to the right of that. Overall length of the blade is about 5-15/16".The box label is printed with "STANLEY REG US PAT OFF 1-2 DOZ 25 6 INCH ROSEWOOD HANDLE T BEVELS STANLEY RULE & LEVEL CO NEW BRITAIN CONN USA". The box originally held 6 bevels, I only have the one bevel included with the box. Condition of the bevel is excellent, appearing never used, and it does have some minor scratches from handling.Condition of the box is very good. The label in intact. The vertical corners of the lid are all starting to tear at the lower ends, and there are some modest stains mostly on the top surface. The box bottom is intact with no tears but it does show some wear at the horizontal corners. Stanley bevel boxes are quite uncommon in my experience. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. There is lots of information available from eBay that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars? Especially when you ask on an email that is sent through the eBay email system? Please don't ask, the answer is no.INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally other than Canada. If you are in Canada, ask for what the shipping would cost, but be prepared for it to be $$$$$. AUCTIONS: I won’t end an auction listing early to sell it to you directly.
