Description: This listing is for a charger/service plate manufactured by Shenango China for The Admiralty restaurant in The Sheraton at St. John's Place in Jacksonville, Florida. The back stamp dates this piece to sometime between July and December of 1981. Measures 10 3/8" in diameter. The last photo in this listing shows a 1984-1985 full page advertisement for the Sheraton at St. John's Place that includes The Admiralty logo (same one on this plate) and describes the restaurant as an "award-winning traditional steak and seafood restaurant." I could find no similar plate online. I purchased this plate in a lot of five different restaurant ware plates, all from the same source. All five had unique hangers and were displayed on the wall, and all five seem to have some connection to the Sheraton Corporation. I suspect that this piece was manufactured by Shenango as a sample piece for the Sheraton Corporation as a potential client, but that's just a guess. Like the other four plates, it does appear to be one of a kind. No chips, cracks, repairs, or other unusual wear. Absolutely lovely. If you are a collector of rare Sheraton Hotel memorabilia, here's a chance to add to your collection! Will be wrapped with care and shipped with GOBS of packing material!
