It is advisable to use aluminum oxide stones for sharpening knives made of soft stainless steel: 1095, 1080, 1070, 1050, 420, 440A, 440B, 3Cr13, 8Cr13MoV, 8Cr14MoV, 9Cr14MoV, AUS-4, AUS-6. Using aluminum oxide stones to sharpen knives made of hard steel is not recommended because of low performance.Hapstone Aluminum Oxide Stones are preliminarily lapped and does not require lapping after purchase.Hasptone Aluminum Oxide Stones are recommended to be used with water as lubricant. Soak the stone for 1-2 minutes and splash water on the stone's surface to prevent drying.All stones are 6 mm thick and mounted on high-quality aluminum blanks with laser engraving.
