Sevres Style Pair Vases In Brilliant Turquoise With Portrait Faces French

Description: Offered for sale is a fabulous pair of Victorian porcelain portrait vases in the Sevres manner, although these are unmarked. They are each 11 1:2” tall. They have the Old Paris or “Vieux Paris” shape and style , and these vases are often unmarked but usually excel in their fine quality painting and design. I have loved Old Paris porcelain for as long as I can remember. These vases have a stunning turquoise ground with gold painted detail and rococo style handles. The portrait vases are special, and all the ones I’ve owned over the years have been superb quality, with each pair having portraits that are meant to face each other. The portrait vases featuring men are not found as frequently as women vases. The featured men are in the Romantic style and are depicted from an earlier century. One man is young and appears dressed in the clothing of the medieval period; he reminds me of a Musketeer. The older man wears a turban and colorful garments and I assume he represents a man from the same period in history. These vases are in excellent condition with no damage or repairs.
