Description: Maker: This elegant bouillon service for four has the black backstamp of Charles Allerton & Sons, which produced fine pottery and bone china wares in Longton, England, from 1859 until it closed in 1942. In 1912 it became part of Cauldon Potteries but continued to use the Allertons name. Age: The mark on this service came into use in 1915 and was retired sometime around 1929, when the phrase "Made in England" was included in Allertons marks. Design: The pattern - number 2472 - features a pretty blue and red geometric band against a pure white bone china background. The pattern is continued on the cups' exteriors with a circle of tiny red flowers. Condition: All eight pieces are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, wear or repairs. Size: The cups are 3 7/8 inches wide and 2 1/8 inches tall. The saucers are 5 5/8 inches wide. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
