Description: Set of 3 Copeland Embossed Floral Bone China Toddy Plates Circa 1853 Set of 3 scrollwork embossed bone china porcelain toddy plates. Decorated with hand colored blue, red and pink flowers. Unmarked, but matches a teapot I've previously had which had an English registry mark with the date code for November 26 1853. The only registry listing in the Encyclopedia of Marks on American, English and European Earthenware, Ironstone and Stoneware for this date is for W. T. Copeland. These have crazing typical of British porcelain, usage wear consistent with age, and staining. One has a small Y shaped hairline on the base. Each plate measures approximately 5 inches wide. These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the pieces. DSBX
