Description: Here is a vintage celluloid smiling buddha set that includes an adjustable necklace, large link bracelet and clip earrings. All pieces are done in an antiqued gold metal finish with green faceted celluloid "stones". The necklace can be adjusted up to 17 1/2" with a hook clasp and link chain. The smiling buddha is accented with a purple rhinestone and small faux seed pearls. The buddha pendant is 1-1/2" tall--the same size as the buddhas in the 5-link bracelet. The bracelet also has purple rhinestones and faux seed pearls. It is a little over 7" long with a fold-over clasp. The clip earrings are 1-1/4" long, and the clips are tight and secure. Many of the buddha pieces have some wear to their black facial features as shown. No rhinestones are faux pearls are missing.A similar set with the same buddha pieces is featured in "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202" by Julia C. Carroll on page 30. The pieces are unsigned but are often attributed to the Selro/Selini company. Some people also site Florenza or HAR as possible designers. They are lovely pieces in very good vintage condition.
