Sega Game Gear + Game + AC Adapter ***GLASS LENS / NEW CAPACITORS / RECAPPED***

Description: This vintage 1994 Game Gear is in good, clean shape and plays games perfectly. It has been fully refurbished with brand new capacitors and a glass screen (see details below). Video is bright and colorful with no artifacts. Sound volume can be turned up loud without any distortion or static. Cosmetically, the body shell has moderate wear such as some scratches/scuffs/marks. Includes Sonic the Hedgehog 2 game cartridge and a brand new AC adapter. Please see photos for exact overall condition and actual gameplay screenshots. Capacitor Replacement (Re-cap). The console has been completely recapped to eliminate issues with the original leaky and failure-prone capacitors (all Game Gears even those still working will eventually require a full recap due to this pervasive problem). All electrolytic capacitors were meticulously replaced on the main, sound, and power boards. Brand new, higher spec Nichicon, Panasonic and Rubycon capacitors were used for reliability and performance. As shown in the last few photos, the work done is professional and top quality. Beware of amateurs who do not show their recap work and especially those who use oversized, junk brand capacitors that are installed poorly (long untrimmed legs, crooked/contorted placement, uncleaned pads, dull lumpy solder joints). Glass Lens. The console has been fitted with a brand new, tempered glass lens from RetroSIX. The lens has nice rounded edges and is scratch resistant. It fits perfectly unlike the cheap ones that do not align correctly, often leaving uneven gaps near the upper corners. Cleaning. The console has been completely disassembled for deep cleaning and vacuuming. Every nook and cranny have been thoroughly cleaned of any debris, grime, capacitor fluid, and corrosion using 99% pure isopropyl alcohol (for the circuit boards) and good old soap and water. All buttons and membranes were individually scrubbed and sanitized. The speaker was removed for cleaning as well. The battery contacts were polished. The cartridge slot, brightness/contrast and volume knobs have been treated with DeoxIT to ensure trouble-free operation. Console has been tested with batteries and AC adapter with no issues.
