SCOTT #3137 - BUGS BUNNY PRESS SHEET PANE - LEFT, DOWN This is a LEFT SIDE PANE from the PRESS SHEET of the BUGS BUNNY (Scott #3137, 2008 Scott Catalog Value $70.00+) PERFS DOWN issue. There are TWO printings of the Bugs Bunny sheet. Those are the PERFS DOWN and PERFS UP varieties. In a classic "The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing" scenario, die-cutters at Avery-Dennison were told to prepare dies in "Gauge 11". What they weren't told...because all this self-stick die-cut business was new...was that there were TWO ways to cut the dies. ONE way,"Perfs Down", produces 12 "Perfs" at the top of the stamp. The other way, "Perfs Up", produces 13. Now, they're not really "perfs" as we know the term, but until a better word comes along, I'll call them perfs. The selvage markings in your pane may be slightly different from the scan, as there are 3 left side panes on a Press Sheet, and each has slightly different selvage markings. MINT, VF NH. Computer scans often show darker or lighter areas which aren't on the actual item, and the larger the object to be scanned, the more areas will be affected. Plus, I scan using a "cover sheet" to hold the item in place, and the plastic cover sheet can create glare. ALWAYS GO WITH THE DESCRIPTION!
