Description: A lovely and scarce early model of a Borzoi dog produced by Schwarzburger Werkstatten (Schwarzburg Workshops for Porcelain Art), located in Unterweissbach, Thuringia, East Germany. The company was in business from 1908 to circa 1938. The figurine bears the blue hallmark with impressed fox. This is a fine quality hard paste porcelain figurine, with dog looking to the rear, and mounted on a porcelain plinth. It has been hand decorated with beautiful subtle coloration and detail. The artist's name is impressed in the top of the plinth, as shown in the closeup photo. This piece measures 4 1/2" tall by 6" long. It has been in my dog collection for many years, kept behind glass in a showcase. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. There are two lines through the hallmark, for no discernible reason, and due to the scarcity of this piece, I was happy to add it to my collection. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description. We are experienced shippers of fragile items. Please see my other listings for more quality, vintage Borzoi figurines. We are happy to combine shipping when safe for all items.
