Description: Extremely scarce copy of the second volume in the Linda Carlton aviation series Linda Carlton's Ocean Flight. Edith Lavell wrote this series of five titles. This is the original edition published by the A.L. Burt Company in 1931, and not the cheaply constructed Saalfield reprint. Features its orginal dust jacket, which lists three Linda Carlton titles on the front flap. Rear jacket flap lists the Nancy Pembroke series ending with Nancy Pembroke, Senior. Back cover of the jacket advertises the Girl Scouts series ending with The Girl Scouts of the Cardinal Patrol. Reverse side of the jacket lists many of the series published by Burt in the early 30s. Both the book and the dust jacket rate as Very Good minus condition. The jacket has age browning on the reverse side and a few scattered chips and creases (see accompanying photos). Few of the dust jackets from the Burt editions of Linda Carlton have survived, and this one will have a protective cover added to it prior to mailing. The book itself is sturdily bound, with creamy white pages showing only a small amount of age browning. The outer blue boards are strongest on the front, with a slight fading of color on the spine and back. No writing or marking other than the original owner's name in ink on the first set of blank endpapers. NOT an ex-library copy or reproduction.
