SCARCE 1918 NOS TEXACO 1/8 GALLON MOTOR OIL CAN

Description: 1918~TEXACO OIL ADVERTISING TIN~TEXAS CO. PORT ARTHUR~Rare 1918 antique oil advertising tin, marked the same on both sides: TEXACO PETROLEUM PRODUCTS - THE TEXAS COMPANY - PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS - SPICA OIL - CONTENTS ONE EIGHTH U.S. GALLON - 5-18 (May, 1918) - and with other Texaco advertising on the other sides. Overall in excellent condition considering the age with no dents or rust and some little tarnish spots and paint loss in the nickel coated finish. The can is full NOS. This square advertising tin measures 5 1/2" by 3 5/8" by 1 3/4". Awesome 106 year old original can. This is a rare find for collectors of gas and oil memorabilia. The 1918 Texaco 1/8 gallon motor oil can is a genuine original from the Texas Co. Arthur port. It is a perfect addition to any collection of vintage advertising and gas & oil equipment. The branding on the can is clear and visible, making it a great display piece. It is a must-have for anyone interested in the history of gas and oil in the United States. The can has not been cleaned. The can does show some imperfections, minor scratches, paint loss, some tarnish etc. common with an oiler this old. Part of a 60-year collection acquired.
