Description: This stunning antique SATSUMA platter by B G & W - Bates Gildea and Walker was manufactured in England around 1879. On the underside it is stamped with the Bird and Diamond Registry that Bates, Gildea and Walker used from 1878-1882.English registry dates the platter to circa 1879. There is also 47709 in red and an initial- maybe M. This uniquely beautiful platter has a medallion in the centre with two birds and blossom. The trim has botanical features with geometric patterns. The colours are all class -burgundy, gold , black and cream. It has a beautiful cream surface glaze. The underside shows one small nick. It measures16 inches x 13 inches 41 cms X33 cms A rare find to enhance your collection.
