Sansui QRX-5500 Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap W/ Transistors

Description: Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Sansui QRX-5500. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild a Sansui QRX-5500, and includes the correct size replacement main filter capacitors. This does not include new lights or fuses. This also does not include the output transistors. Correct replacement outputs are MJ21195G/MJ21196G, available here. Please don't buy any of the fake Chinese "Sanken" transistors on eBay--those are counterfeit and will blow up. This kit includes replacements for all the electrolytic capacitors in the receiver, including the four large chassis-mount capacitors, which are replaced with two Chemi-Con 10000 uf 80v caps and two 1200 uf 100v Epcos caps. The new caps are the same diameter as the old ones so they will fit the old clamps perfectly. The kit also includes replacements for almost all the transistors on all the boards except the tuner board. Transistors frequently age worse than the capacitors, so you have to replace them when you're doing a rebuild. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild vintage equipment. Capacitors are Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Nichicon Muse, Panasonic FC, Wima film, Epcos, and Chemi-Con for the main filters. Transistors are Fairchild/Onsemi. The Sansui QRX-5500 is a quad receiver, which means it has a LOT more parts in it than a typical vintage stereo receiver. This kit includes a total of 270 parts, which is more than almost any other kit I sell. This will be a long, slow rebuild. The parts for each board are individually bagged for ease of installation, and the instructions will tell you how the transistors go in, but there are a LOT of parts to replace here, so if you do not have a lot of experience with vintage gear I would not recommend starting with this one. You should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, a desoldering gun such as a Hakko FR-301, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with 100W incandescent bulb.
