However you can also use appropriate ring terminals (not included) to fasten wire leads to the terminals, which may make the installation process simpler. Instructions are specific to the AU-717, but the process is similar for other models. You will need soldering skills to install this conversion kit. If you are not confident working with electronics please consider having an electronics tech perform the conversion. This modification allows you to use banana plugs, spades, bare wire, or whatever compatible connection you choose. The conversion is non-destructive, requires no extra hardware, and no modification of the rear panel. The adapter plates are two-piece, keyed to the existing panel opening, and are very secure when installed. Soldering equipment, tools, and basic skills are required. To install this kit, only the top and bottom covers need to be removed. All soldering can be performed outside of the amplifier prior to assembly of the parts. The adapter part is designed such that the solder tags are captive and cannot contact each other. I designed these adapter panels for personal AU-717 restoration projects and 3D print them myself. I have sold several kits to enthusiastic members of a Sansui forum (AudioKarma). I've decided to sell them here to streamline the buying/selling process, and get wider exposure.
