Description: Extremely Rare! They only made a handful of these - 1957 Willy's Army M-274 Mechanical Mule scale model, made by Banthrico. There has always been a lot of controversy about who made this vehicle and what it was used for. The last picture shows who made this toy, (the toy and the box shown in the last picture are for reference only and are "not for sale"). From all accounts it was made in 1957 during the Vietnam War as a promotional / salesmen sample for the military and also could have been used as a identification model to train troops. The actually vehicle was used mainly for troop transport and a cargo carrier. This model is made from aluminum or some other sort of cast metal. Used but in excellent condition for being nearly 70 years old, it is just missing a little paint and has a replaced steering wheel. The wheels turn freely and has no other issues. Please take a very good look at the pictures, they are a major part of the description. This is a very heavy item weighing over five pounds, the shipping weight will be 6 to 7 pounds.
