Veneration of God's saints only brings Him more glory. What are relics?Catholics have been venerating Saints from the very early days. Relics are often used for veneration of saints but even more often for healing. They can be categorized into three classes. First class relics are physical remains of a saint and may include bones, flesh, hair or any other body part. Second class relics are items touched by the saint and most often include pieces of clothing or objects used by the saint. While we do not have first class relics of Jesus or Mary, we actually have many second class relics of them that include items such as the crown of thorns, nails from the cross, crib of our Lord, pieces of the crucifix and the veil of Our Lady. Third class relics are items such as a piece of fabric that was touched to a first or second class relic. We use third class relics to create our relic holy cards and relic anointing oils. Before creating our third class relics, we make sure that the first or second class relic we use is authentic and approved by the Church. Whenever possible and available we also present the documentation of the relic. The Catholic Church does not claim that relics possess any mystic powers. However, relics are not only biblical and are approved by the Church, but there are also countless examples of miracles occurring due to relics. We can even find references to relics in the Old Testament such as the story mentioned in 2 Kings 13:20-21 when the body of a dead man is touched to Elisha and comes back to life. In the New Testament, even the handkerchief of St. Paul and St. Peter’s shadow are mentioned as relics in Acts 19:11-12 and Acts 5:14-16. The first recorded account of a relic used by the Church outside of the Bible was in 156 AD in Smyrna. Those were the bones of St. Polycarp martyred at the stake. Relic cards:Our Relic cards are not just touched to the relics. They really include a piece of fabric that was touched to the First or Second class relic. The prayers selected for our relic cards are chosen with great care to ensure that anyone using the card can get the healing they seek by venerating the saint, Jesus or Mary. By having a physical object that was touched to the saint, Jesus or Mary, you can have a real spiritual connection with them. Relic anointing oils:We use a special blend of oils to create our relic oils. Our secret recipe includes Sweet Almond oil, Spikenard (Nardo) oil imported from Jerusalem (this is the same oil St. Mary Magdalene used to anoint Jesus), Rose or Lavender fragrance oil, and olive leaf imported from the Mediterranean region and a piece of an actual fabric 3rd class relic submerged in the oils. This means that even when your oil runs out, you can refill the bottle with another oil and it will automatically become a relic oil because the relic remains in the bottle. We use 10ml high quality glass bottles with a stainless steel roller ball so you can apply the oil in small increments to any part of your body that needs healing. The oil blend we use is skin safe.PLEASE SHAKE YOUR OIL WELL BEFORE EACH USE. Spikenard oil has less viscosity and will settle on the bottom. This is normal. Laminated card dimensions are 2.5 inches by 5 inches. They are beautifully designed and unlike any other prayer cards of this kind. The cards are laminated to extend their usage. What makes these cards unique, is that these are the only cards based on real photographs of Catholic art. They are very sharp and carefully designed to present real beauty of Catholic art and devotion. Our holy cards are of the highest quality you will find anywhere. They are very durable, very clear and sharp. They will last you for many years of prayer.
