Description: The name of this Sailor Valentine is Heart’s Desire. Hand crafted in a 12 inch by 12 inch box made of Mahogany. The depth is 2 inches. The center features a pink and white heart cockle on a background of abalone edged with gold cording. A ring of miniature sand dollars edged the abalone. Seven star points of mauve sea urchin spines outlined with tusk shell surrounds the center. Abalone decorates the section between the star points. Scallop shells and squilla claws adorn the inside of the star points. A ring of white cup shells follows edged with pink coffee bean trivia. A wreath of assorted flowers surrounds the entire center. The shells used for the flowers include blue green operculums, gooseneck barnacles, sea urchin spines, white operculums, barnacles, blue abalone, rose tellins, volva, cup,shells and star sand. Gold cording outlines the outer edge of the box. Heart cockles decorate the eight corners of the box. Heart’s Desire can be hung or displayed on an easel. There is a sturdy hanger on the back. I use shells from all over the world and the finest hand made boxes with the best hardwoods. I am a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. My Sailor Valentines have won several awards at the Sanibel Shell Show, Sanibel,Island, Florida.
