Description: This listing is for a S54 vanos unit that has been rebuilt/resealed. This is one of the most comprehensive vanos kits that is put together. This vanos unit has been upgraded with new seals from Beisan Systems. The oil pump disk has been re-drilled to a smaller diameter to prevent the vanos exhaust hub tabs from breaking. This vanos unit has been throughly cleaned and inspected for any wear. The vanos oil pump shaft has no scratches or imperfection(s) that would affect vanos oil pressure and or operation. This vanos also comes with a new solenoid pack complete with the valve block. The valve block comes with a new oil pressure regulator. The new solenoid pack with the valve block will increase vanos response. The solenoid pack is better than a re-soldered pack, which can still fail. The valve block is new with no wear on the needles. This is an excellent and the best option for anyone doing a vanos repair or replacement. The oil pump disk is original to the vanos unit, it has been re-drilled only. Some other vanos replacements will have a disk from another unit with unknown wear and can cause low oil pressure in the vanos system. The vanos also comes with the internal oil valve. This is important to keep vanos oil pressure within specification. In the pictures you can see that there is no wear on the oil pump shaft, this is important to maintain oil pressure in the vanos. There are no cracks in the piston bores of the vanos unit or housing. Redline assembly lubrication was used to lubricate the radial bearing.The vanos sealing plate was upgraded with new o-rings from Beisan Systems. The original sealing plates are known to leak. Included in this package is a cryogenically treated vanos exhaust hub, two rebuilt splined shafts(intake and exhaust), two pairs of S62 diaphragm springs, twelve updated camshaft bolts, twelve vanos hub bolts, 1 upgraded chain guide. Exhaust Spline Shaft Genuine BMW Used Excellent Condition The splined toothed shaft has been internally upgraded with anti rattle kit and new needle bearings. This eliminates axial play. Side to side play is known as radial play and that is acceptable. Intake Spline Shaft Genuine BMW Used Excellent Condition The splined toothed shaft has been internally upgraded with anti rattle kit and new needle bearings. This eliminates axial play. Side to side play is known as radial play and that is acceptable. A new vanos gasket will be included for free. The brand is Elring. Valve cover gasket set is available for purchase if needed. It is not included in the listing. There is a core charge on this listing. If you choose not to send a core in, you will be charged the full amount. The amount is $500 USD. Vanos must be in a rebuildable and usable shape. The oil pump holes must not be redrilled that means only two holes on the oil pump disk. The vanos must not have any deep scratches and dents. The radial bearing, race, must all be intact. Vanos must have all piston caps. The threads for the banjo bolt where the vanos high pressure line is must not be damaged meaning stripped. The vanos solenoid pack and valve block must included. The solenoid pack connector should not be damaged if it is damaged a lesser refund will be refunded. A solenoid pack that has been opened and re-soldered will reduce the core refund by $100 USD. Solenoid packs that have been open previously are not always guaranteed to work, they are recommended for temporary use. Once they have been repaired they cannot be repaired again.
